Xylogic rtelnet replacement

By Prefbid II ·
I'm trying to port some applications from AT&T SVR4 to Linux. One of those applications concerns using a Bays terminal server as a device on my Linux server. The way it works is that the system associates a device on the Unix box with the IP and port address on the Bays terminal.

The old system used a Xylogic version of rtelnet, which does not remotely work the same way as rtelnet in Linux. The Xylogic rtelnet allows me to give the IP, port and device names and they are then both associated.

Are there any tools (homegrown, free or available for purchase) that will do this?

Xylogic rtelnet replacement

Hi,

I suggest you try re-building the tool under Linux.

Here is a link to a page that has quite good information re: the terminal server. On the page is a link (which I've also included below) to their source code! It seems that it was released when support for the product was dropped!!

http://www.ofb.net/~jheiss/annex/

And directly to the source code tarball...

ftp://ftp-support.baynetworks.com/pub/swcode/remacc/microannex_xl/R10.0B-R2.3.tar.Z

(remove spaces from the above URLs)

Its 24Mb in size so I didn't download it to see exactly what it contains. I'd give you a good chance of getting something useful from it, though.

Good luck,
Tim.

This was terrific. It still took some work, but this was the help I needed to get to the answer. Thanks.
