It may help if you uninstall the card and take the card from the slot and reseat it reboot the system and let windows detect the new hardware. The other option will be to look at the Computing Net.com site for help

Hi, you did not mention what operationg system you are running and if you installed some other program that might of cause a conflict with the sound card.

Go to System Icon in the Control Panel to see if that is a conflict with any of your devices. There will be a red or yellow ? or ! mark with any devices that is not setup correctly. Remove all devices that is not setup correctly, click ok 2 times, and reboot computer. On reboot Windows will reinstall driver that it has detected.

If thatdoes not resolve your problem, make sure you have the latest drivers for all of you devices. A great place to find the latest BIOS update and drivers for most devices is at:

http://www.windrivers.com

Good luck and have a great day.

I have this sound card as well. I had a devil of a time trying to install it. Everything went fine after I realized that it had to run on IRQ 15. Most sound cards run on IRQ 7 I believe. Hope this helps.

I also would try unistalling all sound card software (don't uninstall wave device for modem, tho!) and then shut the system down. Physically remove the card from the slot & re-seat it making sure it's all the way in. I've known cards to jiggle out of slots just by moving the case around the least bit. Win 9x should find the sound card on reboot & reinstall drivers.

If it still doesn't work (that's IF it finds the card & installs software) check for IRQ conflicts in Device Manager. Sound cards & modems often squabble over IRQ 5 (printers generally take IRQ 7).

If it doesn't find the card, uninstall the drivers again, shut the system down, remove the card & reboot without a sound card. Then shut down, replace the card & reboot. (Sounds hinky, but I've had it work several times... it "cleans" out the "problem" hardware list so that something's not partially installed & using a resource.)
