I got this interview question recently and to be perfectly honest have never heard of RAID 15 before. I’ve heard of RAID 1+0, which is mirroring with striping, so I’d assume that by the same logic, RAID 15 would be a mirrored set of a RAID 5 stripe with parity requiring a minimum of 6 drives, since RAID 5 requires a minimum of 3 and we’re duplexing it effectively. Is there such a thing as RAID 15, or was the guy trying to BS me into answering a trick question?
