Young (27) educated (MBA/MIT) and ready to roar, where to go now?

Hello Everyone,

I have some career questions I would like some advice on.

I am in a funny situation at the moment. I don’t know where to concentrate my time and effort in terms of the type of career path I would like to take. Here’s my background. I attained a bachelor of Business Administration worked as a operations manager/project manager for a couple of years. I then proceed to study again, attained an MBA, Master of Marketing and am finishing off an MIT, I have focused on e-business during the IT program. About a year ago I started my own consulting business, but I have qiuckly found that in my smaller city that there truely isn’t a market for consulting but more for technical work (I am not a technician and don’t want to be). About 70% of the companies here are under 10 employees I have one large client 150 employees that I am consulting for and also managing a major
implementation. So here I am I don’t think there is a market for my services, but i have seen lots of contract work for project managment and Business Analysts. Should I go down that road and restructure my business model to work as a contractor? It seems like there are many well established consulting firms that get all the business that I would like to have. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
