Your opinion of Snap Server's?

By SciFiMan ·
How do y'all feel about the Snap Server? I'm looking at a 80GB Snap Server 1000 for a NAS and I know they've been around for a few years now.

What trouble have any of you had with them? Anything I should what out for? My office is currently mixed with 20 percent W2K and the rest Win98, WinME, and two NT 4.0 servers.

Thanks!
David

As long as you plan to use this for just basic network storage, you will have little problems. You can go as secure or as open as you want and support for NT/2k/novell/Mac is all there.
HAving said that, if you plan on using this as a host for applications or web stuff, look elsewhere. The SNAPs are not the fastest when it comes to access speed and running aps. or services from it may be un-acceptable to your users.
