Do you mean ZIP file??
A Zip file is just a compressed file. Zipping is useful for emailing files because it reduces the file size and WinZip is readily available on almost ALL oc's for the end user to unzip and read the file.

A zap file is alternate msi through exe to software installation on win2000 through gpo.gpo uses msi packages.zap files canot be assigned in group policy,only published in active directory.users will be able to install application through add/remove programs.the structure is basically an ini file which states the description,install path and comments,like so.lets say we want users to be able to install acrobat5.0
[application]
Friendlyname = "Acrobat Version 5.0"
SetupCommand = \\PATH TO EXECUTIBLE
Displayname = 5.0
name file with zap extention
Thats it
hope this helps
