Zip drive & W2K

By teresa.conrad ·
I have a ZIP 100 parallel port on Windows 2000. I have followed all the troubleshooting techniques offered by iomega's website, but the zip still will not appear in windows explorer. How else can I assign a drive letter to a zip other than in computer management or BIOS settings???

Is this the troubleshooting page you used?

http://www.iomega.com/support/documents/10127.html

REMOVE SPACES from the pasted URL.

If not, it has step-by-step instructions on how to pinpoint your problem.

Another possibility:

Windows 2000 did NOT detect my Parallel-port ZIP-drive.

It is required for the Printer port to "Enable legacy Plug and Play detection".

Which service pack is installed in Win 2K? I understand that Iomega has not written drivers or Microsoft screwed up the Iomega drivers for service pack 2. Maybe it will be fixed with SP3. If you get it to work, let me know!
