zip file download problem

By ebob2k ·
After moving to a newer system with a fresh Win98 SE install, when trying to download zip files, such as TechRepublic downloads, I am not able to choose a download location because the download starts and, when complete, the download stays in the Temporary Internet folder. At the completion of download to that folder, it starts to unzip. To save the downloaded file, I must go to that Temporary Internet folder and cut/copy the file download to the folder it would have gone to if I'd had the choice at the start of the download.

Non-zip downloads download normally.

Another, possibly-related problem is that KaZaA Lite will not connect.

Have you tried to unistall and re-install your Zip program? If not, unistall, reboot then re-install. I mention reboot only to clear anything strange. Sometime when you unistall and reistall right away, things just don't seem to clear properly.

Good luck
Tim
