Orange iPod nano 5th generation
Apple recently held their Fall 2009 iPod launch event where they rolled out updates or new devices across the line. One of the most interesting models is the iPod nano and I picked up a custom engraved orange one to check out. This new generation nano has the same outside form factor as the 4th generation with some updates. The display is slightly larger, there is a video camera on board, a FM radio is included, and a pedometer is included to help you with fitness.
Two iPod nanos, 2nd and 5th generation
The previous version, 2nd generation, before the fatty (3rd gen) and one with the similar form factor (4th gen). As you can see the nano has come quite a ways.

New video camera on the nano 5th generation
The video camera on the new nano make it the only iPod with a video camera.
If you order through the Apple store you can get free custom engraving. The only issue is that you cannot return or exchange a custom iPod so make sure you really want the device.
Apple click wheel
The wheel used on the nano is the same one we have seen on many iPod models and should be familiar to everyone by now.

Here you can see the size differences in the nanos.
iPod nano and Zune 4GB
The features of the iPod nano and Zune 4GB are similar with the FM radio and media playback support. The nano has a video camera and pedometer too.
Zune on nano
The Zune is slightly thicker, but it looks much thicker when you see the tapered sides of the nano.
Zune and nano ends
Looking at the ends where you can see the full thickness of the nano you can see both are about the same in thickness.
