Cell phones have become as much about style and coolness as they are about functionality. Some people are even switching cell phone carriers to get the latest and greatest phones around. Here’s a glimpse at some of the hottest phones in the U.S. market today.rn
rnThe LG Chocolate “slide” phone comes with a 1.3-megapixel camera, GPS navigation, and lots of music and video.
The Motorola Krzr is 12 millimeters narrower than the Razr, which is 54 millimeters wide. The Krzr, however, also is slightly thicker than the Razr to accommodate a 2-megapixel camera and storage space for 500 songs.
RIM’s BlackBerry Pearl multimedia phone features a camera, a video and music player, a slot for expanding the storage capacity of the device, and e-mail functionality.
With the Sony Ericsson W810i, the company “succeeds again with its third Walkman phone for the U.S. market, but the W810i brings only minor improvements over earlier models,” says CNET Reviews.
In 2005, Motorola lifted the lid on its newest designer line of cell phones, expanding on its trendy four-letter naming scheme with the Motorola Pebl and others.
Millions of consumers have gone nuts for Motorola’s ultrathin Razr phones, including the Motorola Razr V3.
The Audiovox SMT 5600 is one of the smart phones that caught the eye of Jeffrey Gordon, a self-proclaimed cell phone addict. He has spent nearly $2,000 in the past 18 months on his cell phone obsession.
Gordon also liked the HTC Prophet (aka the i-mate JAMin). In its review, CNET UK said that the small overall size of the JAMin should appeal to those who are looking for a connected Windows Mobile device and want to be able to use it for voice calls without feeling too conspicuous.
Another favorite of cell phone fan Gordon’s: the JasJar QTEK 9000.
