Generally speaking, Android is a pretty smart platform. And the more you use it, the more it knows you.

But there are some things even artificial intelligence cannot predict. Case in point: When I need to be notified about certain things. Sometimes a notification will pop up that is of more importance to me later. If I dismiss that notification, I might forget it, but if I keep it, it could get lost in the clutter of other retained notifications.

What do I do? I snooze the notifications I need later.

With Android 12, snoozing notifications is not only easy, it’s built right into the system. I’m going to show you how you can start snoozing notifications left and right, to ensure you never miss anything … so long as it pops up in your notification shade.

Let’s get to it.

How to snooze notifications in Android 12

Pull down the shade on your Android 12 device and locate a notification you want to snooze.

Once you’ve located the notification in question, tap the downward-pointing arrow and then tap the snooze icon in the lower right of the notification card. This will automatically snooze the notification for one hour. If you want to change the time, you can then tap the time drop-down (left edge of the now-snoozed notification) and select from 15 minutes, 30 minutes, or two hours.

You can also undo the snooze (if you accidentally snooze the wrong notification or change your mind). The notification will then vanish from your shade and reappear after the given snooze period has passed.

And that’s all there is to snoozing your notifications on Android 12. I use this feature pretty consistently to make sure I never miss out on a notification. And because you can keep snoozing a notification, you can be sure it appears when you actually need to remember it, not when Android receives it.
