OpenAI has rolled out integrations for cloud services within ChatGPT, including Google or Microsoft 365, as well as a new Record mode for meeting transcripts and updated pricing for Enterprise and Teams accounts. With summarization and note-taking now core features of generative AI, OpenAI appears to be positioning its secure connectors — which integrate with other online accounts — as a key differentiator for enterprise use.

ChatGPT Connectors can draw from Gmail, Outlook, and more

Connectors in ChatGPT link to third-party applications, including Google Drive, GitHub, Box, Microsoft Outlook Email, and SharePoint. Companies can use those connectors to ask ChatGPT to answer questions about or analyze their proprietary company data, such as emails or databases.

OpenAI offers different connectors depending on the subscription tier and whether the user selects one of the Deep Research models. For instance, the HubSpot connector is available only with Deep Research.

OpenAI said the connectors adhere to existing user permissions within the organization and keep enterprise data within Teams and Enterprise plans. The Deep Research model may pose clarifying questions about a company’s strategies to enhance the relevance of its responses.

Connectors in ChatGPT are currently in beta. To use it, go to Settings > Connectors.

Organizations can make custom connectors using the Model Context Protocol (MCP). This is particularly useful for admins who need to connect ChatGPT to internal databases. Subscribers on the ChatGPT Pro plan can also use connectors to integrate their customized ChatGPT instance with specific work projects.

ChatGPT Record mode remembers your work meetings for you

OpenAI has also introduced ChatGPT Record, an AI-powered transcription assistant now ubiquitous in products like Zoom. Like similar products, it records audio and generates a summary. It stores that data in a corpus it can refer to later, so you can ask what action items from a previous meeting are still open or refresh yourself on the details of a project.

ChatGPT Record is now available for subscribers with Teams workspaces on the macOS desktop app. As of now, Record mode is free; OpenAI says that pricing is subject to change. Team accounts will see a gradual rollout, while Enterprise and Edu tier subscribers can expect to have access (with subscriptions) soon.

Flexible pricing in ChatGPT Enterprise plan unlocks advanced models

Lastly, OpenAI introduced a credits-based pricing scheme to Enterprise and Teams, meaning all users can use the most advanced models. Enterprise has the new pricing now, and Teams users will see it in a couple of weeks.
