By mtlshop ·
When installing drivers for a NIC, I get an error message saying:

How do you fix this?

Without know what kind of network interface this is, it makes it more difficult to troubleshoot. Are you certain that the NIC card is functional? Can you get another PC to recognize the card?

The error message sounds like there *might* be an I/O address conflict. Go into Device Manager, click Computer, and then the Properties button. Check to make sure there is not a device in your computer that is using an I/O address of 1F6, or that begins or ends with 1F6.

If all else fails, the good news is that NICs are cheap these days - regularly found in most stores for under $25.00.

Good luck.
