3 Windows Vista Clients cannot send or receive ping from Win2K Server

This is in a domain enviroment. We have multiple Windows 2000 Servers, a few Window 2003 Servers and mostly XP Clients. The 2000 SP4 server in question is a DNS and DHCP server.
This is a sporatic issue. Meaning that I might get one responce from a ping and then the others time out or I might get continuous replies back from a ping and then the next time they all time out. This issue only happens between the new Vista workstations and the Windows 2000 server. All computers have latest updates applied. I have tried turning the Windows Firewall off on the Vista clients. The Vista clients are comprised of 2 Toshiba laptops and one Dell Desktop. I have also tried changing the link speed & Duplex settings from auto negotiation to 100Mbps Full Duplex. I don’t have this issue when at home and connected to the VPN.
