A Brand New Forum For You

By someone ·
Hi everyone, InetFix announces it's 1st
Community Support Forum. It's like a brand new house, full of empty rooms ready to furnish.
I think its kind of cool.
Come start a thread today @

A new idea

by Oz_Media In reply to A Brand New Forum For You

Perhaps you could try pop-up advertising, browser hijacking, spam, viral email or broadfaxing to advertise a new website.

You could have at least added an 'ADV.' in front of your title.
Needless to say, I think you picked a poor location for your advertisement (another tech website)but I'll probably have a look anyhow.

I think I'm gonna post a V*I*A*G*R*A or V#I#C#O#D#I#N discussion thread now.

Sorry but...

by Oz_Media In reply to A new idea

I understand that you're just trying to network together a useful IT community but here's my experience with your free YaBB 1 Gold-SP1.3.1 Bulletin Borad Service. I registered under two aliases with two different email accounts and so far (30 mins.) have not received password from either. This shows me a weakness in the engine and should your forum become populated the experience will be painful to say the least.

Someone simply stumbling on the board (your other disadvantage will be the inability to rescript and position your board in search engines) will not be able to simply add an answer or discuss a topic unless speed improves.

I don't want to get TOO mean, there are several things I noticed on the entry page, but in order to gain some credibility as a 'technical support' forum, you will need to improve on the WordArt title graphic or at least match the page resolution.

Sorry to be so hard on you, you have a good idea but advertising it on another technical site that has already earned the respect of it's members is not a good way to get started off on the right track.
