a peer to peer network and Mobile Wifi possible

by wensystem3 . Updated 6 years, 10 months ago

My brother has a business in the rural areas with no phone line.. He uses Mobile and EE (UK) mobile 4G Broadbrand of a dongle to USB.

It works.

He wants to use his NAS from home and link two laptops. We have a switched hub but nothing to generate dynamically an IP address to the three devices. I don’t think the EE box does this as a normal router would. How to connects the three devices and use the mobile wifi broadband.

It is out of my league unfortunately.

ps.. as an experiment 🙂 I tried on my own system to use a router with Wifi disabled and not connected to the phone line for BB and it did generate an IP for the NAS and my pc . However when i used my USB wifi adapter (I have used well in the past) for home wfif on the PC it connects to the home router but no internet) As i have said .. out of my knowledge/league. Any pointers please apart from.. get a phoneline/BB put in with a router 😉
