I have an ABit KT7A mb, just recently the USB ports failed to recognize any hardware. Power is working out the port, but it seems that no serial traffic is running back and forth.
What I have done:
Upgraded bios
added Abit’s USB patch
unplugged usb cables, reattached.
changed from ACPI to standard mode
checked bios settings as per abit recommendations.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
BTW, the chipset is VIA. I have read that VIA usb and microsoft code has a problem relating with each other. maybe I just put a NEC chipset USB side card in. But I would like to know if anybody else has had this problem and fixed it and how!
