Access web server on local network

By Healer ·
I have a web server set up on one of the Windows 7 computers on the local home network. I don't seem to be able to access it across the network.

I don't expect I need to open port 80 on the firewall to enable it. Can I get some advice?

You have to open port 80 from the firewall on the web server.
By default the firewall does not allow any incoming connections to the server.

And you can try from another computer to test if the port is opened or not by using:

It works.

Thanks it works.

I didn't expect I need to open port 80 myself because I had no problem browsing the internet from the same computer. I have supposed the internet browser would be using port 80 by default so the port should have been opened already.

In the earlier version of Windows I remember the access across the network worked straight away after installation of the Windows web server.

Thanks again.
