    Account expiration notification??

    Locked

    by keyboard cowboy ·

We are trying to set something up so that when a user’s account is within say 5 days of expiration, then a window pops up and tells the user that, and possibly tells them why. Is there anything built into Windows that can do this, maybe some kind of GPO or some option in Active Directory? Anyone know of any scripts that can do this? Thanks for any help…

It’s depend where you want to set up this option – on the server side or locally – But generally speaking – yes there’s a way to do it:

Go to Start=>(=>=Next)Settings=>Control Panel=>Administrative Tools=>Local Security Policy=>Local Policies=>Security Option=>Prompt User to change password before expiration

If you gonna do this on the server side – go to domain security policy and do the same

No, I am talking about account expiration, not password expiration. Thanks anyways. From what I have read/been told, the only way to do this would be a script. So, I will try that route. Thanks anyways.
