Hi,
Acrobat Reader 4.x or 5.x freezes whenever I run it on my Win98 machine here. Reader 3.x doesn’t give me this problem before.
I have tried:
1. Run in Safe Mode, the problem disappeared
2. Uncheck “Load Startup Items”, and the problem persist
3. Uncheck “Process Win.ini” and the problem is gone
4. Uncheck “Process Win.ini” and Uncheck “System.ini” and the problem persist
5. Uncheck “Win.ini” and “Autoexec.bat” and the problem is gone
6. Uncheck “Win.ini”, autoexec.bat, “Load Startpu..” and the problem is gone
Essentially, taking system.ini causes reader 5.0 to not work even in safe mode and makes it impossible to get to full windows mode.
What could the problem be?
