Hi, I have successfully configured my GSM7224 Switch and Cisco2620 router to use 6 Vlans, with dot1q encapsulation configured on the routers sub-interfaces, and a W2K server handling DHCP and DNS, I can ping fine, all seems to work ok, but my client PC’s name, IP does not show up in the Servers DNS even though it gets a DHCP address. When I tried to join the client PC (winXPsp2 no firewall) to my newly created W2K domain, but it comes up with the following error “Your computer could not be joined to the domain because the following error has occured: The network name cannot be found.” If I type the wrong password it recognizes the wrong password as incorrect. When I do an nslookup from my host PC to my domain, it shows me the right parameters.
