Adaptec AHA-1510/20/22B SCSI Card

By NetMan_OVO ·
After fixing the Adaptec AHA-1510/20/22B SCSI Card my computer hangs just after the memory count.

Chip sets on the Card:
1. BIOS 1A74 (931604-00 A)
2. AHA-1520B (976100 A)

Think that I have Done:
Fixed in diffrent slots.
Removed other card(Modem/Sound)

You may have an I/O conflict. Check auto/jumper settings.

Now what do you mean by saying you 'fixed' the card?

Adeptec will identify all the scsi devices connected to it during the boot up polling. If it is hanging at this place... Look for a scsi ID conflict. Two devices with the same number. Also ensure that everythig is terminated correctly.

If there are still problems.

Remove all the scsi devices but the card. If there is a sucessful boot the card is probably configured correctly. Verify the terminal settings. Now add in one scsi device at a time until all are working together correctly.

Hi Marc Quibell,

I know there must be an I/O conflict but I do not know what settings to be done on the SCSI Card or the BIOS (PC). Do you know how to set the J1 jumper on the SCSI.

I have checked the Adaptec site & did not find any setting related topic.

Fixed the card means -> When I attach the card in the slot the system hang just after the memory count, Also it wouldn't boot from a floppy. but when I remove the SCSI card the system boots normally.
