Adding Multiple Recipients to Distribution Lists

By turland1 ·
Hi,

My boss received an email with about 40 other people in the CC:. He wants to be able to add all those people (from the email he received) to a new distribution list for himself. Is this possible without having to do it one address at a time? He doesn't need them as contacts, just addresses in the distribution list. I've tried selecting all - copy/pasting and it doesn't seem to work. He is using Outlook 2007 with an Exchange server.

Thanks a bunch.

Bob

just copy the cc-list into excel, make sure it's parsed correctly, and then import into outlook

You can make distribution lists without contacts

It's possible to create distribution lists without them being contacts. I believe you can open the message, right click, select all in the CC field, then copy. Open a new distribution list, click select members and in the right hand pane labeled add to distribution list, paste. We are using Outlook XP (2002) but I wouldn't see why this wouldn't work in a newer version.
