after a soho 3

By sbutler64 ·
We had a soho 3 firewall on our network. It died and has been removed. Now all the computers have internet trouble. I have a new modem hooked to a netgear FS608 switch then 3 computers hardwired and 3 wireless. None of these computers work on the network. If I run a cable from the modem to a computer it works. So something wrong with the network I would think. But my personal computer that was never on the soho 3 will work wireless or hardwired on the network.

Whats with the switch is a router deal?

by CG IT In reply to after a soho 3

there was someone else who posted a question similar to yours [maybe you posting again] that thinks a switch is a router.

This belief might be good for the independent IT consultants or Geek Squad businesses charging a couple hundred dollars to tell whoever thinks a switch is a router that it's simply not true and go buy a router, but if your **** bent to hook up your ADSL ISP service to a switch, heck knock yourself out.
