We have a small network with one server (windows 2000 server) and clients using various operating system. I need to be able to place a highly confidential file in a shared network location for many people to read, but we do not want them to copy it or move it outside the shared folder. This will be a locked down pdf so they wont be able to print, or copy text either.
I understand that the read permission is basically like giving copy rights. Im just hoping someone has somehow created a work around.
If I hide the file this would work, but its too easy to show hidden files. Unfortunately I cant super hide files, and I cant control via group policy the show hidde files button. There must be a way to do this? Im willing to hear any sugestions.
Please advise.
