I Have a AMR modem on my dual boot system. In windows 2000 I can not get the system to recognize the modem. It keeps telling me no modem attached.

Well, install the driver for Win 2000, get your modem model and go to the website. Usually, OEM versions only support that driver, and if you install another OS, it won't recognize it. Meaning if you have originally Win ME, and then put in Win 2000,your modem, built in sound card won't work, unless your have driver for WIN 2000.

I am assuming you have tried the original disk that came with the modem to install it on your 2000 partition, if so and still no luck, boot into your other OS and go to the Hardware Compatability List for 2000 on Microsoft's page.
If your modem isnot on this list, go to the website of the modem manufacturer, search for the exact model of your modem, if there is no 2000 driver for the modem there, then you are s.o.l. Sorry

But if there is download it to a disk, boot back into 2000 and load the driver through the add/Remove hardware wizard and chk the "have disk" box and load it on up!
