Any ideas on how to create an online live courses website

    by lightshadow177 ·

    Hi everyone,

I want to create my own website that sells courses (which will be hosted on a server with my domain name). The thing is that I don’t want those courses to be pre-recorded uploaded video files. I want to make live courses according to schedules (using zoom or Microsoft teams). I don’t know much web developing but I have basic knowledge in html and coding and I know how to create websites using ready-made bought templates that uses WordPress, OpenCart, Presta shop..etc. I searched a lot of websites selling ready-made templates but all of them sell templates that display pre-recorded uploaded video files. I tried listening to tutorials that talk about how to create your own customized website using WordPress. Some tutorials talked on how to attach “Zoom” (for making meetings) to WordPress using plugins, but none of what I found talked about creating the website exactly the way I want (which is paid live courses).

Any ideas on how to do it without coding from scratch. Is there a way using WordPress or any other similar platform. Any help will be much appreciated.

    Thank you in advance.

That seems a webshop where people can buy tickets for the live courses, like they buy tickets for the cinema or the theater. All you need is their name and an email address to send the link (in Zoom or MS Teams or Google Meet, or whatever medium you prefer) to for each lesson.

It’s possible, of course, that you give the same lesson more than once, at different times. That’s comparable with different days/times for the movie or the theater to choose from, or with the color and size of a T-shirt. That’s fully supported by most website softwares.

There are too many ways to make a webshop.

Creating a website that sells live courses using WordPress or a similar platform is definitely possible without coding from scratch. Here’s a suggested approach using WordPress and available plugins:

      1. Choose a suitable WordPress theme: Look for a WordPress theme that suits your overall website design and layout requirements. Make sure the theme supports WooCommerce, as you’ll be using it to handle the course payments.

      2. Install and configure WooCommerce: Set up WooCommerce on your WordPress site. This will allow you to handle the course sales and manage the payment process. You can create a product for each course you offer and set the price accordingly.

      3. Integrate Zoom or Microsoft Teams: Look for a suitable plugin that integrates Zoom or Microsoft Teams with WordPress. There are several options available, such as the “Video Conferencing with Zoom” plugin for WordPress or the “Microsoft Teams Meetings” plugin. These plugins will enable you to schedule and manage live course sessions directly from your WordPress site.

      4. Create course-specific pages: Utilize your chosen theme’s page builder or editor to create dedicated pages for each course. These pages can include information about the course, the schedule, and any other relevant details. You can embed the Zoom or Microsoft Teams meeting links or codes on these pages to allow users to join the live sessions.

      5. Enable course purchase and access: With WooCommerce, you can set up the product pages for each course to enable users to purchase access. Upon successful purchase, you can grant users access to the respective course pages. There are various WooCommerce membership plugins available that can assist with managing access to specific content based on the user’s purchase.

      6. Set up email notifications and reminders: Utilize email marketing plugins or WooCommerce’s built-in email notifications to send registration confirmations, reminders, and access details to customers who purchase the courses. This will help keep them informed about the live sessions.

Remember to thoroughly test the integration between your chosen video conferencing platform, WooCommerce, and other plugins to ensure seamless functionality.

While this approach doesn’t require coding from scratch, it does involve configuring and customizing various plugins and settings to meet your specific requirements. Make sure to explore the available plugin options, read user reviews.

Yes, it is possible to create a WordPress website that sells live courses without coding from scratch. There are a few plugins that can help you do this, such as:

      1. LearnDash: This is a popular WordPress LMS plugin that allows you to create and sell online courses. It also supports live classes, so you can host your courses using Zoom or Microsoft Teams.

      2. Tutor LMS: This is another popular WordPress LMS plugin that also supports live classes. It has a user-friendly interface and a wide range of features, making it a good option for beginners.

      3. LifterLMS: This is a more advanced WordPress LMS plugin that offers a lot of features, including live classes, drip content, and course certificates.

Once you have installed one of these plugins, you can start creating your courses. You will need to create a course syllabus, add lessons and quizzes, and set a price for your course. You can also use the plugin to create a registration page for your live classes.

When you are ready to host your live class, you can use Zoom or Microsoft Teams. You need to create a meeting in Zoom or Teams and then share the meeting link with your students.

      Hope this helps!

First, you’ll want to set up your website using WordPress.

Then, consider using plugins like WooCommerce to handle payments and course enrollment. For the live aspect, explore Zoom or Microsoft Teams integration plugins to facilitate real-time classes.

These plugins can sync with your scheduling system, ensuring that users can sign up for live courses.
