A tablet (with Android or iOS) is more portable than a laptop (with Windows of MacOS or Linux). It has a larger screen than a phone(woth Android or iOS) and you can put the tablet screen nearly vertical on your desk and use and view it.

And it has totally other and much more apps than a laptop. Few laptops and hardly any desktops have a touch screen. I’d call that more features in stead of less features. What features of a computer are you missing on a tablet?

But there is no “should” here. It’s your own decision according to your own preference.

Here I’m on a PC, laptop and smartphone. Tablets don’t work well for me.

Tablets have some advantages for example you can attach a keyboard to the iPad and make an even more travel-easy laptop along with the fact that most artists that draw online use an iPad with a pen to draw over a phone or computer and mouse.

When considering whether to have an iPad over an iPhone or even a computer, it really depends on your specific needs and preferences. iPads offer a larger screen size, making them ideal for media consumption, reading, drawing, or even working on creative projects. They are portable, lightweight, and often more versatile for tasks like note-taking or sketching, especially with the Apple Pencil. An iPhone, on the other hand, is better suited for communication and portability, while a computer excels in productivity and multitasking for complex tasks. Each device serves its unique purpose, so choosing the right one depends on how you plan to use it.

The iPad’s larger screen and portability make it perfect for games. It offers a more immersive experience compared to an iPhone, while being easier to handle than a laptop. Features like intuitive touch controls and long battery life are huge advantages for extended gameplay sessions. An iPad is definitely a great choice for casual or competitive gaming!

It really depends on how you plan to use the device. An iPad sits in the middle ground between a phone and a computer—it offers a bigger screen than an iPhone for media consumption, reading, and productivity, but it’s more portable than a laptop.

One major advantage of an iPad is battery life. Unlike a laptop, an iPad can run for hours without draining as quickly, making it useful for on-the-go tasks like managing documents, browsing, or even handling finances. I personally find it useful for checking and paying my electric bill. The larger screen makes it easier to read bill details and navigate payment portals compared to a phone, while the touch interface makes transactions quicker than using a traditional computer.

If your usage is casual—reading, streaming, light work, or online transactions like bill payments—an iPad can be a great investment. But if you need high-end software, extensive multitasking, or professional work tools, a laptop would be the better choice.
