APC UPS

We have a large number of UPS batteries throughout our sites connected to servers.
Is there a way to scan the network to find which servers have APC UPSs connected or is it a case I have to log onto every server and check the device manager?

There are a lot of possibilities. Depending of knowing technique you can write a windows script, or in some programming language (like visual C, Visual Basic Delphi?.) using windows API look about installed UPS. Information about Windows API you can find at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/190000/

APC management

APC has a power management platform that has an autodiscovery of your APC UPSs on your network which allows you to manage for your console, it is called PowerNet Managager.
