Atomic clock - not software

By badnonnie ·
I need an atomic clock device for a standalone server...not a software atomic clock, I have found lots of those. I found one that uses either radio or GPS from a company named Galleon but too expensive ($1800). My co-worker says they bought one a few years ago for $200.

You can purchase a GPS clock for $380 from
Or you may purchase any NMEA-183 compliant GPS receiver and decode the GPZDA message and set your PC clock by it periodically. Your error will be proportional to the jitter and latency of the software plus the GPS you purchase.

This actually sounds like a fun project to do.

Thank you for your answer, you're the bomb!!...I've already contacted them and submitted an order. I did see a couple of others but this proved to be a really good buy.
