Audio Card

By smurf5677 ·
I recently installed Windows XP and I can't receive any sound. My sound card, which worked previously under Windows 98, is a Creative Audio PSI (ES1371,ES1373) WDM.........do I need an updated driver?

Audio Card

It will depend on which card you have, if it is based on the CT5880 audio processor than Creative has an updated driver & software. If it's not based on the CT5880 processor than you have to use Window XP native drivers.

Using the numbers ES1371 or ES1373 Creative says your card is a SOUND BLASTER ENSONIQ AUDIO PCI

Double check your model number first see below.

SB PCI Identification

Including the Sound Blaster PCI and Ensoniq PCI series

Most model numbers (CT-xxxx) will be printed on the component side along the top edge of the soundcard.
If there appears to be no model number, please provide the number located on the box. The model number can be located in a red oval and can be represented as either "ES-xxxx" or "CT-xxxx."
If the box is not available, please provide the number located on the main chip of the soundcard. It may be in the "ES-xxxx" format.

I downloaded all the Creative files....they didn't work. I finally went to the Gateway page and they had the correct driver. Thanks anyway.
