Automatic Dial Up

My Windows XP computer tries to connect to the internet everytime I log on.... I cancel the operation and it the computer tries again and again to connect. I have turn off all automatic conection features. Can anbody help?

Check your internet settings.
Make sure that under connections, that the box for always connect when not connected is not the one checked.

We need more detail of the auto dial program. Could be some program requires connection to the net (update, registration etc) and auto run as soon as you start the system up.

It is likely you have some instant messaging program set to run at start up, and connect automatically set in IE properties. Run msconfig and uncheck the start up entries for AIM or any other messaging clients that are set to run there.

When u Logon to XP..do u log on to a Domain. It might thats when u log-on its set to use Dail-up connection. If this is the case Uncheck the Automatically connect with Dail-in at the Logon Screen
