Automatic Logoff Of Local User

By Scooby170480 ·
I'm a administrator in a college and is there a way i can automatically logoff a user on the network after the logon time has expired? I have configured it so the network connections disconnect but the user is still logged on.

Is there anyway i can solve this without third-party software or screensavers.

Active Directory is installed

In WinNT4.0 resource kit is "winexit.scr". Check if it is usefully for you.

That it useful. But not quite what i need. I need a specific a way to log off user at a particular time ie 6.00pm. Not a time out of say 60 minutes of idle/logon time. The users have restricted logon time but autologoff only disconnects the network connections and not the actual local computer.

OK!
Try to use "shutdown.exe" (from resource kit) with its options to build a batch file and then schedule to run this batch at a specific time.

Thanks for the help. Is there any chance that it can be configured via Active-Directory? Have set logon times. But the users still are logged on although there network connections are disconnected.

I would like to do this without other software or utilities.

If not, i will try the shutdown.exe program

Cheers
