When a CD is inserted into the CD-ROM drive, the operating system checks for a file named Autorun.inf in the root directory of the CD. This file contains a pointer to an executable file named Autorun.exe

Here is Microsoft's TechNet article on this:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;q172078

(delete any spaces in the above URL)

Hope this helps! Good Luck....

Create a file in the root directory called 'autorun.inf'. In this file, place the following:

[autorun]
OPEN=SETUP.EXE

This will launch the setup.exe program when the cd is placed in the drive. (Change setup.exe to whichever file you wish tolaunch automatically).
