AVG scanning on Terminal Server

By cccondo ·
We have AVG 8.5 installed on a Terminal Server. It runs scans everyday at 3am like we set it however when our clients log on remotely to the TS of a morning it starts scanning again, does anyone know why!?

If it's been set up to scan anything it comes in contact with, including external resources.

Any antivirus program ain't worth its salt if it only scans local drives at a preset time each day - what security is it providing the rest of the day?

For instance, Avast! informs me if I go anywhere near an infected online site. It couldn't do that if it only scanned my systems once per day.

Sorry, but if you are emphasising the point that it is a full security suite, why are you asking what it is doing when clients log in?

I'd have been more likely to expect the question had it NOT been doing anything when the clients logged in.

and no we don't want it scanning every time we log in remotely cause its a pain the arse and its already scanning early in the morning anyway, however we cant find the option to stop it!

You ought to consider my Post again ...

"Any antivirus program ain't worth its salt if it only scans local drives at a preset time each day - what security is it providing the rest of the day?"

Perhaps I should have worded it "what security WOULD it be providing the rest of the day? [if it sat motionless]"

My comment was rhetorical.
