backup exchange server

By California Dead Head ·
I have a single w2000 exchange server on a w2000 server for our company. My boss wants to know what we can do as a system redundancy precaution in the event the motherboard blows up. Can we run 2 exchange servers together? Clustering? How can I make it so if our current exchange server blows up people are without mail for the least amount of time without having to wait for the server to be repaired????

here's a link for front end back end exchange http://www.msexchange.org/tutorials/Exchange_2000_FrontEndBackEnd.html

copy the link right to left so there aren't any spaces in the link

I've found this site MSExchange.org, Microsoft's Help & Support site for Exchange, Microsoft's Exchange Newsgroups, and Windows & .Net Magazine Exchange forums to be the best sources for info on exchange [MSExchange.org gets my vote for best overall easy to find and use site]. Try em out. MSExchange.org has a ton of usefull articles on exchange that I've found invaluable.
