Basic Question about installing RW CD pl

By jon.yankee ·
When I install a second CD drive into my computer do I need to change the setting in the BIOS CMOS or will my computer automatically set it up when loading the software?

Probably not. However a good rule of thumb to follow is when installing any new hardware always check the BIOS settings. Try just an auto-detect Hard Disks (dependant on which BIOS you have) and that should rule out any problems. You should really need to do this only when installing a new hard drive although it wont hurt to do it all the time.

There is a little jumper setting on the back of the CD-Rs and CDRWs. My suggestion to you is that you set the CDRW as master, and the CDR as slave on the same controller, leaving the HD alone.
Good Luck!
