I have a stationary and a laptop sharing the same connection through a Belkin router, the stationery is connected with a wire to the router and the laptop uses a wireless connection.
What happens is that I keep getting random disconnects for a second making all my programs that requires an internet connection disconnect, eg ventrilo, msn, world of warcraft etc.
I’ve been in touch with my internet provider who states that there is nothing wrong with my modem/connection and told me there’s something wrong with the router, I therefore went and got the router exchanged but the problem persisted. Thus I contacted belkin support who’s only suggestion (after making me change wireless channel which I had already done with no notable effect) was to monitor the connection with just the modem for 24 hours to see if the problem remained.
We have tried this, albeit not for 24 hours but for a few hours at a time with no problems.
Have no viruses on either of the computers, have the same workgroup.
The disconnects are completely random and sometimes doesn’t occur for several hours and sometimes 2-3 times an hour and sometimes even 10 times in 1 minute.
I’m just lost I’ve tried pretty much everything I can do on my own and nothing seems to work.
