I am using a Dell inspiration 15 system. I recently upgraded its Storage from HDD to SDD. After installation of the drives, my next task is to migrate OS from SSD to HDD. I also watched some videoes on Youtube but their methods didn’t work for me. I am looking for open-source software to migrate my OS from HDD to SDD.

Since you didn’t tell what methods didn’t work and why they didn’t work, I can’t comment on that part of your post. Also, you didn’t tell why you need to use open source software to do it.

Anyway, you can’t migrate only the OS between differents disks. So your two options are:
      1. A fresh install of Windows (and other programs) on the new SSD.
      2. Clone the whole HDD to the SSD. There are a lot of cloning programs that can do that. Some are open source, others are closed source but free, and others are paid. Your choice here,

Now, let’s proceed and learn how to transfer the operating system to SSD in a Windows PC.
Step 1: Make your SSD Ready.
Step 2: Take a Backup of your Data.
Step 3: Create a System Image of your Windows PC.
Step 4: Install Windows on your SSD.
Step 5: Perform the System Image Recovery.

      This May Work,
      Peter
