Best way to copy Folders with permissions

By pstoric ·
What would be the best way to copy all the data from an old server running 2003 ot a newly purchased one running '08. Would robocopy be my best bet? I think robocopy with /copyall /s /e /xb will copy all the data intact, but will it copy the file permissions as well? if not what would be my alternatives?

XCopy will work

Just use the correct switches and you'll be fine.

The /O switch copys the ACLs of the files over to the new machine.
Just look thru the reaminder of the switches and choose what you would like then let it fly.
