bet no-one can crack this problem

by deant . Updated 20 years ago

I have a problem with one user who uses a pptp to connect to our exchange 2003 server.
He is using a usb adsl modem with a 2MB connection.
He can ping the mail server by address and FQDN.
Outlook 2003 finally connects after about 5-8 minutes but i cant understand why it takes so long?
I’ve tried disabling Antivirus and windows firewall but it still takes ages to fully connect.
The other applications run fine over the VPN but not Outlook.
He is running Outlook 2003 in cached mode.
Other users with the same settings connect in less than a few seconds and they are using the same ISP.
The other strange thing is i can connect to his laptop using remote desktop but cant control anything!!!

Any help will be appreciated
