BIOS CAN'T UPDATE

HI EVERYBODY,

I HAVE A IBM PENTIUM 100MHZ COMPUTER . AND I HAVE UPGRADE MY COMPUTER CPU WHICH IS 233 MHZ. BUT MY COMPUTER'S BIOS CAN'T DETECT IT.I HAVE USE THE PCCHECK AND I DETECT THE THE CPU HAVE BEEN UPGRADE TO 233MHZ.I HAVE ALREADY UPDATE MY BIOS BUT STILL CAN'T SOLVE THE PROBLEM.
ANY CONCLUSION?

The upgrade needs to be checked for compatibility with your current system.
First check the web,to locate motherboard manual to to help with the upgrade,there are jumper settings that need to be changed to support the updated BIOS.
Try using the utility Si Soft Sandra it will identify the part on your system and list in report.

Many of the Socket 7 motherboards do not support the MMX series of CPUs.

Not only do you need to set the clock speed, you need to set the CPU core voltage, and enable the dual voltage setting.

If the MB does not have the jumpers for the dual voltage, or MMX, then you are funtionally limited to the 200MHz "standard" Intel Pentium.
Or, one of the 3rd party upgrade chips.

If your board does not support the proper voltage settings, the 233MMX CPU will have a short life.
