What would cause the hardware listing under Device Manager (Win98) to be empty, the only thing showing is Computer. This is when View devices by type is selected. Under View devices by connection everything is still displayed. This symptom is recent, it didn’t exist previously on this PC. No hardware changes have been made, the only software changes have been Microsoft Win 98 & Office 2000 updates.
