Boot Sequence

By TheRook ·
How do i change the boot sequence in the Sony Vaio V505 laptop? No matter what i do, it won't change, and there's a + sign next to the harddrive, which is where it boots from.

Are you trying to change the boot sequence of Windows, or are you trying to change the partitions of the hard drive so you can boot to various operating systems?
Changing the boot sequence of Windows is possible, but not recommended, unless you know a lot about Operating Systems.
Booting to multiple Operating Systems is usually done with a utility such as Partition Magic.
The plus sign is normal. Nothing to worry about.
Regards, Chris

Usually it depends on the bios version. try rebooting and press "delete" or F1 or F2, before it begins loading windows or whatever your OS is. If you get into the "setup" program for bios, go to "bios features" and scroll down to "boot sequence" and select the drive you wish to boot from first. Hit "Esc", go to "save changes and exit", confirm you want to do it and enter. Then your boot should go to whatever drive you selected as your first or primary boot drive.
