boot up errors

When I boot up my PC,it goes into safe mode but half way through it reboots to the same place again,if I try to ignore safe mode and start full windows I get a blue screen error and have to restart,I have tried to reformat without any success,I am running 98se on Athlon 2000,266DDR.
any ideas please

It looks like you have a drive issue. Remove some of the devices (pci devices and others) attached in your system leaving only the video card, keyboard and mouse. Reinstall your OS. If it does not work. Your problem could be a BIOS uprade. You may do this by going to the website of the manufacturer of your system. Or you can try disabling disk write caching and shadowing. You can do this by going to the configuration set-up.

After booting up with "boot floppy" found driver error,removed and all seems fine,many thanks

How much RAM do you have?

Windows 98 (and Me) have a bug that can cause all kinds of problems if you have more than 511MB of RAM installed.

The 'fix' is to either remove RAM, or set the maxfilecache statement in the System.ini file to less than 512MB.

sure sound like a Ram issue i would try a new stick.
