Branch office server as a member server

Hi all,

Can somebody kindly check this scenario out and see if it is plausible.

I have 2 offices - Office 1 has a SBS2003 DC and Office 2 has Windows XP workstations only at the moment. I intend to install a member server in Office 2 and connect the two offices via sonicwall to sonicwall VPN.

My questions are

1) Will it work?
2) Apart from making the member server a Global Catalog server, do I need to do anything else on there? e.g. Install DNS?
3) Has anybody done anything similar or know of any alternative scenario that will achieve the same thing?

I would greatly appreciate any feedback.
