Browser Hijacker

By barbarab71 ·
I'm dealing with a browser hijacker. The homepage on IE changes to a page that wasn't selected as the homepage. Does anyone know how to get rid of it? I have gone through the registry, deleted all cookies, temp files, internet temp files, and I found a program that I deleted with add/remove. I don't know what else to do.

I would download and run adaware or spybot search & destroy...
(remove any spaces)

it may be something more than just spyware or adware, in that case you may need to run/install anti-virus software... hope that helps, and good luck

Turn off system restore if it is used in your os.

Download, update, and run the following.

Look for the file in English CWShredder.exe

Hijack This:

This program is useful in that it shows what is currently loading on startup. You must know what is good and what is bad. Once you check it and fix it is gone. So be sure.

I have had to boot into safe mode and run these.

Good Luck Lee
