It all comes down to what your MotherBoard supports. Usually, mfrs will build separate types of MB based on the type of CPU that will run in it. You can try it. Is not going to **** up or anything. All that it will do is "nothing", if the processoris not right for the MB.

Good luck!

If Im remembering correctly, I don't beleive there are any motherboards with the triton chipsets that will support the K6-2. If it was an older K6-333, I wouuld agree with the guy at the store, but I was always under the impression (and I could be wrong about this)that the K6-2 required the 100mhz bus to work correctly.

Personally, I think you'd be better off spending the extra 100 dollars for a motherboard and still transfering your components over

Without knowing specifically what model motherboard you have, it isn't possible to be 100% sure. Having said that, I don't think your CPU and motherboard are going to work. Your motherboard has to be able to support either 66 or 95 MHz for the 333. Your motherboard will also have to support the correct CPU voltage settings, both core and I/O. I don't know that I would recomend hooking your CPU up to the wrong voltages just to see if it works. AMD provides a list of recommended motherboards on the web. Using one of those will limit your problems. Good luck.
