can i downgrade windows server 2003 enterprise edition to standard edition

By funny_satish199 ·
I have an evaluation copy of Server 2003 enterprise edition up and running and configured the way I want it. I have found that I do not need the Enterprise edition and went ahead and purchased the standard version of server 2003. Now I want to know if I can install the standard edition on top of the evaluation with out losing any of the active directory settings that were originally created.

Save your active directory settings that were originally created.

And then put on your Windows server software.
The answer to your original question is no. So just save or write down the settings and then do a fresh install. Either way you will lose your settings so the best way is to do a backup of the settings in question.

Please post back if you have any more problems or questions.
