Can I link a wireless Linksys-B router with my wireless Netgear-N router?

By joep33 ·
Is it possible to link wireless routers of different brand? If so, can a wireless Linksys-B router link to a wireless Netgear-N router?(the Netgear router is connected to my modem. Also my main computer is a Mac, and i would like to connect the Linksys router to my PC in the basement)

You should be able to do so.

The Linksys would need to be set to WAP-only or passthrough mode, or you'll otherwise have to configure this manually. E.g., DHCP should be off on the Linksys, simply passing the config from the Netgear.

The routers will need to be within good-excellent signal range of each other.
